James Jean was born in 1979 in Taipei, Taiwan. He graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
James Jean is an award winning illustrator living in Los Angeles. He is an acclaimed cover artist for DC Comics, garnering three consecutive Eisner awards, two Harvey awards, two gold medals and a silver from the Society of Illustrators of LA, and a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators of NY. His clients include Time Magazine, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Spin, ESPN, Atlantic Records, Target, Playboy, Knopf, among others.
James' contribution is a double-page which represents a scene of blood and guts, with a woman's crying on the side. He said he wanted to desecrate the book and he certainly did !
