Who is LeUyen Pham ?

LeUyen Pham was born in Vietnam, in 1973, and settled in the United States in 1975, when her family fled Saigon. Growing up in Southern California, LeUyen began drawing at an early age. She graduated in 1997 with a degree in Illustration from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

Career

LeUyen Pham started as a layout artist for Dreamworks Feature Animation. In 1999, she left Dreamworks to pursue children's book illustration full time. By her best guesstimate, she has illustrated about 30 books. She does three or four each year and has authored one herself, Big Sister, Little Sister, Grace for President by Kelly DiPucchio and Freckleface Strawberry by Julianne Moore. She has won several awards. She is living with her husband Alex Puvilland and their two sons in California.
